About So Doggone Good and Doris Canose
Doris is an animal enthusiast with a business spirit. She has elected to leave her
long-time corporate job to pursue her dream of entering the pet industry. Doris has
lived on Cape Cod for 6 years. She recognized the need for specialized pet care in
the area because of her own personal need and her many contacts with pet professionals.
She has volunteered with the Plymouth Animal Shelter for three years and now operates
a pet sitting/walking service, and is a member of the South Shore Pet Networking Group.
Doris also participates in the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Cape Cod.
Doris holds certifications in pet first aid and CPR from the American Red Cross.
She practices alternative nutrition on her pets that lends itself to the food.
Doris is healthy, tenacious, and energetic. She left the retail clothing industry to pursue this business
full-time, as animals have always been her passion since she was a child. She has four
adopted pets of her own. Her Golden Retriever has been certified as a Canine Good
Citizen and Therapy Dog. She can now visit hospitals and nursing homes to comfort
the ill. She is also experienced in giving shots to diabetic animals.
Having had a German Shepherd with cancer seven years ago, she began her exhaustive
research into animal nutrition. From this experience, she acquired an enormous amount
of information about holistic and homeopathic nutrition.
